French Riviera Wine Tours
The French Riviera is not only beaches and villages. Above Nice, the Bellet hills hold one of the smallest wine appellations in France, and further west the Var, the Saint-Tropez peninsula, Cassis and Bandol make some of the best known wines of Provence. Each one is a day from the coast.
Riviera Come True designs private wine days that keep things simple: a few estates visited by appointment, a long lunch in a village, and a private van with a driver guide so everyone in your group can taste. You choose the region and the pace, and we arrange the visits, the timings and the route. Tastings are paid directly at each estate.
Where We Taste
Each of our four wine days covers one area properly rather than rushing through several. The Bellet day stays just above Nice, with Château de Crémat, Château de Bellet and Domaine de la Source, and an optional lunch at Auberge du Rédier in Colomars. The Var day, from Nice or Cannes, visits Château de Saint-Martin in Taradeau, Château Font du Broc, the old village of Les Arcs for lunch, and Château Sainte-Roseline and its chapel. The Saint-Tropez peninsula day goes to Gassin and Ramatuelle, and the Bandol and Cassis day starts from Marseille or Toulon, with lunch in Le Castellet.
Your guide knows the estates and the roads between them, books each visit in advance, and plans the day so you arrive on time and never feel hurried. Visits depend on each estate’s opening days, which we check for your date.
Four Wine Days from the Coast
Choose the day that fits where you are staying. From Nice, the Bellet wine tour is the closest, back around 4:30 pm, or a half day that ends before lunch. From Nice or Cannes, the Provence rosé wine tour in the Var is a full day of about 8 hours, back around 5 pm. If you are staying near Saint-Tropez, the Saint-Tropez peninsula wine tour keeps the drive short. If you arrive by ship in Marseille or Toulon, the Bandol and Cassis wine tour is planned around your all-aboard time.
Every day is private, for your group only, with up to 8 guests per van and larger groups on request with an additional vehicle. Lunch is not included, so you choose where to eat, and we can suggest a table. If you prefer, we can combine a wine visit with one of our private tours of the French Riviera.
Why a Private Wine Tour Makes Sense
Wine roads are easy to find on a map and harder to enjoy on your own. Someone has to drive after every tasting, the hill roads above Nice are narrow, and most estates only receive visitors by appointment, on set days and at set times. A private driver guide handles all of it. Everyone in your group can taste, the visits are booked for you, and the day moves at your pace, not a group’s. There is no rush between estates.
Plan Your Wine Day
Tell us your dates, where you are staying, your group size, and which wines you most want to taste, and we will design a private wine day on the French Riviera or in Provence around your group.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which wine tour is best from Nice?
The Bellet wine tour is the closest to Nice, with three estates in the hills just above the city and a return around 4:30 pm, or a half day that ends before lunch. For Provence rosé, the Var day from Nice or Cannes is a full day of about 8 hours.
Can everyone in the group taste the wine?
Yes. Every wine day is in a private van with a driver guide, so no one in your group has to drive. Your guide takes care of the route, the parking and the timings between estates.
Are tastings included?
Tastings are paid directly at each estate, so you only pay for what you taste. Visits are arranged by appointment, and we confirm them with you when we plan your day.
Can we do a wine tour on a cruise stop?
Yes, from some ports. From Marseille or Toulon, the Bandol and Cassis day is planned around your all-aboard time, with a margin for traffic. From Nice or Villefranche, the Bellet half day is the shortest option. Tell us your ship, your port and your times when you enquire, and we will tell you honestly which day fits your stop.
How much does a private wine tour cost?
Our price is per vehicle, not per person, and depends on the day, the route and your group size. Quote on request; ask us about what is included. Tastings and lunch are paid directly at each estate and restaurant.
